Huge November UPDATE!

Hey All!
So yes I know I am slack on my blogging. I get so busy with everything that I have going on that I never seem to be able to carve out the time to get a post together....
Until WAM! I realize that I haven't posted in forever and then I have so much to say!!
So let me just sort of focus on all the things I currently have going on because honestly if I go as far back as May, this will be the longest blogpost ever! So I will just cover the biggest things.

First off I have several paintings on my desk.
SEVERAL. I have a tendency to work on several different paintings at once. I think this is something that I learned when I was in Art school. I always had a few projects due at the same time so I always had a lot of paintings going at once. I have tried to do one at a time, its just hard for me to focus on just one for really long periods, so I seem to work on them in rotations. Really, I probably have ADD. But this is how I work and it keeps my attention. Its unconventional to say the least....lol.. But this explains why it may seem that there are no new paintings, and then all of a sudden I have like 10 new pieces..lol Also I work in 4-6 hour painting blocks because I just can't sit any longer then that..lol.. But whatever works to get stuff done :)

Anyhow, my point in rambling on is to express that I am nearing completion on many of the projects that I have on my table so be on the lookout for these.

Second topic of conversation is licensing.

Up until now licensing has not been something that I have actively been pursuing, as I have been trying to build up a nice portfolio of images. I have had a few deals over the years and they were all learning experiences for me. This year however, since I feel I have been building up my portfolio of images nicely, I am making a conscience decision to add more licensing deals to my plate. So the first deal I am adding is the following:

I am happy to announce that I am now signed with the awesome people over at MyTagArt. My images are now available as images and tubes for hobbists. You can purchase my images for usage HERE!

I am currently actively pursuing new licensing deals, and I hope to have some awesome news in the future regarding new amazing products that my art will be offered on. So stay tuned for more on that front.

Third topic I want to talk about is my EBay Shop.

I have been active on EBay for quite awhile now. I have had the shop and the whole nine yards for years and have enjoyed my stay. However, I have decided to close down the shop portion of my EBay shop. I have been thinking this over for the last few months and decided that its the best move for me to close the shop portion but still offer the random original or ACEO for auction. I don't feel that I need to have a store and pay the extra money to have a store in order to still offer this to my fans. Everyone is still able to access to my auctions, and I am still able to offer the same things, I just will be offering originals only, but no prints on that site. Once the prints expire I will not be relisting them.
I recently have opened up an Artfire shop, I like the functionality, the look, feel and ease so much better then on EBay in my opinion. Because of this I would like to focus my efforts more on my Artfire and ETSY shops. (I will still be keeping my ETSY shop) I will be listing EVERYTHING in my ARTFIRE shop and MOST things in my ETSY shop, and random originals on EBay.

Speaking on my Artfire shop I have a few things going on over there :)
I have added tons of handmade jewelry. If you are on my facebook page or any of my social networks you will already know that. But for those of you that are not, I have beautiful cameo necklaces and original art dangle earrings. I have made all these goodies by hand and currently I am running a fun sale on my all my art cameo necklaces $5 off!!! All you have to do enter coupon code HAF5OFFCAMEOS at checkout :)

Jewelry isn't the only thing that I have added! I also have gorgeous hand beaded bookmarks. Mark your place with my art!! I have made 10 different bookmark designs from my original paintings. They have all been handmade and hand beaded by me the artist!

And lastly I would like to talk about my Zazzle Shop. I have added quite a few design over the last couple of months and most recently I have added 2 new awesome products to the shop. The first new product is iPhone hard cover cases! I am quite excited about these. Right now I only have the iPhone 4 cases, but will be adding the 3G cases and iPad cases as well!! Just added these iPhone 4 cases yesterday so stay tuned for the other product designs, they will be coming shortly!
I also added some new Holiday Ornaments to the shop! Just have a few right now, but will be adding more over the coming weeks!

Alrighty, well I think that is it for now. I am getting tired of typing, and my brain is starting to not want to think..lol... if I think of anything else to say I will just write it in another post!
Thanks everybody for the support and for caring about what I do.
I truly appreciate it!

Talk soon!!!

Clara's Pet ONE cent Auction!

Hi all!!

Just a quick post to let you know about my latest happenings. I recently got an unexpected opportunity to add another convention to the calendar this year within the last day or so. The convention is Chattacon in Chattanooga and I am in the process of trying to get everything together in order to go I am really excited about it!! Chattacon is in a few weeks and I am trying to come up with some extra money for the show. I decided that I would lower the price on one of my paintings and offer it up for 7 day auction, No Reserve starting at only ONE PENNY! I don't usually start out my larger paintings this low, but I figure if this goes well then I may add a few more penny auctions throughout the new year.. Happy Bidding!

Big Blog Update......

Hey Everyone!

Another big blog update for your here! I've been meaning to write in here for the last week or so, but have found myself VERY busy with projects. For those of you the follow me on a daily basis, you know I have been very busy with my 50 paintings in 50 days "Skulls and Hearts" Series. I have a little over 2 weeks completed in the series and it seems to be going pretty well, however I did get somewhat behind. I am learning a lot from the series, it is helping me to paint more quickly and more effectively which is always a plus. I am trying to stay true to getting at least one mini painting a day done. And I have been working on some of the "off" days that I have so its more like get 5 paintings done in a week..lol. Also, I had started out posting the originals for sale on ETSY, but have switched it over to my EBAY store, since I seem to get more traffic there, more people have an EBAY account.

Here are the first 10 in the series (2 weeks worth):

Some of these ORIGINALS are sold but there are still some left. You can find these on my website http://www.heartsaflutter.net or through my EBAY store ORIGINALS shop link.

So today I spent some time adding the first 10 in the series to my website as 5x7 Open Edition Prints. I know that not everyone has the money for originals right now but will still would like to have or collect the images. Therefore, every couple of weeks I will update the 5x7 prints to include the latest images in the series. Each print is only $7!! They make a really nice tuck in gift for your favorite person! You can find them on my website under 5x7 prints.

I currently have week three moving along so far it has included, Snow White, the Wicked Queen and I am working on a Steampunk piece right now. Can't wait to show you guys that one. More on the 50/50 series to come...

Right now though I want to tell you about my latest slightly larger scale painting. Its called "Star Shine" It is an 8.5' x 11' painting on basswood tree round, and its all ready to hang.
I think I mentioned this in a previous post, but I am planning a series of celestial themed paintings called Wandering Stars. This painting is the first in the series and I am quite pleased with how it turned out! I have all sorts of ideas in mind for paintings I will be doing in the future revolving around this subject. But right now I have my hands full with the 50/50 project, so I hope to get more into the Wandering Stars series at least by the beginning of the year.

"Star Shine" is currently available for sale through my website or through my EBAY ORIGINAL shop link. Please keep in mind I do consider all offers on my larger scale works, so if you are interested, please do not hesitate to contact me info@christinalynnmyers.com. My price isn't firm, its just a ballpark figure!

In other news, I unloaded a few of my larger Originals this month which is great because it gives me more room in my studio to stash all the new paintings that I want to make. lol
However, if you had your eyes on the originals for Ladybug, Violet Wings Get You Nowhere, or Underwater Friend, they are all nestled safely in their new home. I do have the prints on my website as 8x10 or 5x7 respectively if you are interested in any of these images in particular.

I am working on my Christmas cut off dates right now. I will be sure to make a post specifically related to Christmas shopping within the next day or two so stay tuned. I think that's all for right now, hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday (my USA Peeps) and got to spend it with their families! We'll talk real soon!! xoxo~Christina

Big Update!!! New Prints and Original up!!

Hi Everyone!

Finally getting around to writing an update to my blog. Got some new info for you, new prints and an some cool stuff about my new website under construction.
First up, I have my newest painting for you, Violet Wings, Get You Nowhere. I have decided that I really enjoy painting angels. The concept of angels and the reality of their being have intrigued me for a long time. Recently I've been doing quite a bit of reading and research on the entities.
Angels are considered the messengers of God. These of course are the angels that have not turned to the darkside... (if you will excuse the Star Wars reference).. I really LOVE Star Wars... Anyhow the angels that turn to the darkside, are the fallen angels. I really want to interweave this reality into my angel paintings somehow, so I have decided to start categorizing the angels for what they are. From now on my angels will either be under the series category of "The Messengers" or the series category of "The Fallen". In the future, expect to see several angels coming your way as I am really focusing my attention on these magnificient feathered ones... :)

My newest Angel painting is part of "The Fallen" series of angels. She is a pretty little angel donning a skull hat and her dress is loaded with a collage of pink skulls! Can't you just feel her despair?? Because Violet wings... just get you nowhere.. :) I have decided that fallen angels do not need to be grotesque creatures, although some can be. Since evil can appear as beautiful as good, there is a dichotemy between angels of good and evil. Both can appear as an angel of light. I suppose this is why you should never judge a book by its cover. Besides why shouldn't the fallen still be very very cute??

Next order of business is prints!! I have decided to make it a focus to build up my 8"x10" print gallery. Today I have two new 8x10's to share with you! If you like the Violet wings painting above, but don't have the money right now to plunk down for the original.. Consider getting the 8x10 print! Also a few months ago I painted a giant mermaid that was holding her clown fish friend, I have made that into a print for those of you that are interested! :)

In the next few days I'll let you know the progress of my website. It's coming along nicely, but the fact is that I am not a crazy fast web designer... it really takes me awhile so I just try to do it a little at a time to curb my frustration. Or to curb my desire to throw my laptop out the window.. lol!! I'll tell you more about it later.

Until then please keep in mind that I have a whole bunch of Original paintings up for auction. I would love for these to go to a good home. I am accepting best offers on many of these, so if you see one you really like please do not hesitate to ask, I won't be offended. :)

Christina's Original Paintings

Okay that's all for now, I'll be in touch soon!! :)
xoxo~
